I was still going for chemotherapy and healing from the surgeries. I had many days when it was all I could do to get out of bed. Today, I'm feeling like a completely different person. I knew then that I would be better within a year, and it's happened. I got to thinking about attitudes, setting goals, and the future, and that motivated me to write a bit about my past and what I'm currently doing in order to achieve the goals I intend to reach a year from now. I am lucky that I was inspired by great authors and speakers and that I have learned so much from so many people who have taken the time to sit down and put what they have learned into a book. Books have helped me along the path and my life is better because of them and the people who wrote them -- and continue to write them. They are, by far, the best investments I ever made.
