Who could believe it?
by Jane Jarvis

Who would have thought eighteen months ago I would be where I am today?

Life had collapsed in a dramatic pile around me overnight, giving no time to prepare or think rationally.

We were living a fairly idyllic life in Italy when due to an appalling discovery about my husband of 14 years, I left my husband, work, house and the area where we lived within 24 hours.

I had no income, savings were all tied up with "him" and therefore not accessible and I had my two gorgeous little girls, aged three and nine, to look after.

Well, thanks only to pure ingenuity and a credit card we managed to survive almost a year still in Italy when finally, due to lack of money, we just had to return reluctantly to our home country - England.

The kids settled straight into the most wonderful school. After living in a caravan in a field full of sheep and sheep droppings we managed to get a tiny house.

I got offered a superb job but it depended on me having a degree in the field, so I got a late place at University to finish my course - the job is there for me when I finish next year.

I make enough money on the internet to survive financially and pay my rather enormous university fees.

I have also almost managed to pay off most of my debts by following a really simple principle which just blew my mind and made everything possible.

I have never felt more confident or clear in the whole of my life. I am following my passion, getting paid for doing what I love doing, fulfilling a dream of attending university and am with my beloved children.

Interestingly for the first time in my life I LOVE my own company.

Who would have believed so many wonderful things could come about through the most awful events.

(Thanks to Jane Jarvis, United Kingdom, for submitting her story.)
