Act On Your Dream | Directory

This directory lists a variety of destinations that I find to be helpful and interesting.

Over the years, I have found websites, forums, blogs, and other online destinations that have helped me in one way or another.

Some have been interesting and educational and others have helped me build my home business.

I think you will find sites here that will interest you, too.

Appalachian Heritage

My ancestry is partly Scot-Irish, as is the ancestry of many people who live in western North Carolina and the surrounding area.

Our Appalachian Heritage derives much of its richness from our ancestors in Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and England.

Cherokee County, NC

Cherokee County, NC - This is my adopted home, in the mountains of western North Carolina. I enjoy helping people in this area promote their businesses, organizations, volunteer activities, events, and other items of interest. Cherokee County is the western-most county in North Carolina on the far southwestern corner of the state.

We are located approximately two hours away from Atlanta, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Asheville, and Greenville and US Hwy 64 is the main road through Murphy, NC, our county seat and largest town.

I've been testing ways to help people in Cherokee County and Murphy North Carolina promote what they're doing. As a result, I've created several websites and blogs to see what works. After a couple of years of testing, I'll be maintaining the following sites and blogs. It's been awhile since I had the time to maintain the blogs, but that will get back into full swing in May 2007.

A Portal for Cherokee County, NC, has gone through at least three complete rebuilds over the last couple of years. I have found a way to build the site that offers flexibility for updating information without making it too easy for hackers to destroy the site (as they've done previously). The current version will continue to grow and the blog and calendar of events will be updated as I discover new information to pass along to you.

Murphy, NC 28906 is a blog specifically related to business and businesses in Murphy. I will do my best to bring willing buyers together with willing sellers by helping them to promote their businesses and special events and offers.

Murphy, NC Business is a site that is designed to promote specific businesses in our town. I'm still not sure how this site will evolve, and it may merge with my directory here or be totally replaced in the coming year. There is more to test before I'm sure of how it will work out.

Site Build It Webmasters

Site Build It Webmasters - Ordinary people, many with very few technical skills, are building successful websites using Site Build It! You can, too.

Western North Carolina

I live in the far south-western corner of western North Carolina, in Murphy, NC. Most people think that Asheville is the western end of our state, but you have to drive about two more hours from Asheville to Murphy, and there are many small towns between us.

I own and manage the Western North Carolina Forum and invite those of you who live in our area to join the conversations or start new ones. Tell us about yourself and what you're doing.

These forums are great ways to get more visitors to your blogs, websites, and offers - at no cost. The more you participate, the more visitors you will get in return. It's truly a win-win situation.
