Before we can work on succeeding, it is important to understand more about how each of us defines success and how we, as a group, think about this concept and the things that surround it.

Why is this important?

If each of us has a different perception of what success is, but we're using similar phrases in discussing it, then it is easy to misunderstand what we're saying. I may use a phrase that means one thing to me, but you may think of that concept, using that same phrase, as something very different.

In order to communicate clearly, we need to be aware of these differences.

How do you define success.

Some people define success in terms of money, wealth, fame, power, influence, and material goods.

Others define success in terms of happiness, satisfaction, living where you want, setting your own schedule, being your own boss, and setting your own direction in life.

Perhaps you define success in terms of great relationships, good friends, a loving spouse, great children, and a happy home life.

Do you define success in being able to travel the world and have great experiences?
